In the land of Retinal Delights : the Juxtapoz Factor

More than 150 artists will be featured this summer at the Laguna Art Museum exhibition, "In the land of Retinal Delights: the Juxtapoz Factor." Curated by Meg Linton and overseen by museum director Bolton Colburn, this installation of sculpture, photography, comics, posters and fine art paintings is a "must see" event for fans of Southern California art and culture.

"In the land of Retinal Delights: the Juxtapoz Factor" features the artistry of Mark Ryden, Jeff Soto, Tim Biscup, Tiffany Bozic, Raymond Pettibone, Craig Stecyk, Marion Peck, Von Dutch, Robert Williams, Peter Joel Witkin, Camille Rose Garcia and hundreds more. The private preview party happens June 21 and the exhibition opens to the public on June 22 and runs through October 5, 2008.

Thankfully, I was chosen to work on many of the design and promotional components for the exhibition, a great honor, since I have been working with a great many of the featured artists since 1992. While working on the components, I tried to mix Victorian and Gothic Styles together to compliment the eclectic nature of the artwork featured. There will be more components of the book posted, as they become available, currently working on all of the layouts, as we speak. But for now, enjoy a few of the components created for the Laguna Art Museum, Hurley, OCWeekly and fans of the "Juxtapoz factor."
